Most PCLaw help online is written for the current release. If your firm runs PCLaw 4 to 14, the menus and steps can differ, and the vendor may no longer take your call.
We support every one of those versions and have a page for each, with the problems and options that apply to it.
When to Call a PCLaw Technician
Some problems get worse with each attempt to fix them. If you see any of these, stop and get help before trying anything else.
- PCLaw will not open for anyone in the firm
- Verify Data Integrity reports errors
- Trust does not reconcile and you cannot find why
- A restore, an upgrade or a year-end close stopped part-way
- Files are missing, renamed or encrypted
Before You Call
They also make the first session much shorter.
- Ask everyone to close PCLaw
- Do not restore a backup over the live data
- Write down the exact error message
- Note your PCLaw version

The guides are written to apply as widely as possible, but menus and steps differ between versions. If something does not match what you see, tell us your version and we will point you to the right steps.
Send us the exact error message and your PCLaw version through the contact page, or call. If the system is down, say so and it will be treated as an emergency.
