Clients, Contacts & Matters
Client and matter records with their lawyers, rates, practice areas and billing settings, cleaned of duplicates first.
Soluno is cloud software with full legal accounting built in, which makes it a natural move for firms that rely on PCLaw's general ledger. We know both systems and handle the migration end to end.

The hardest part of leaving PCLaw is usually the accounting. Many cloud products handle time and billing well and leave the general ledger to separate software. Soluno keeps general ledger, receivables, payables, trust accounting and billing in one system, the way PCLaw does, and runs in a web browser with no server to maintain.
The people extracting your PCLaw data are the same people who set up and support Soluno.
Client and matter records with their lawyers, rates, practice areas and billing settings, cleaned of duplicates first.
Unbilled time and disbursements by matter and timekeeper as of the cutover date.
Outstanding invoices and balances by matter, so statements and collections continue without a gap.
Trust balances by matter and by bank account, reconciled three ways before and after the move.
Chart of accounts and opening balances, mapped account by account with your accountant's input.
Vendor records and unpaid payables, so cheque runs carry on from the first week.
Review of your PCLaw data and a written scope: what moves, how accounts map, and the cutover date.
Integrity check, reconciliations and review of old balances, so only correct data is migrated.
Firm settings, chart of accounts, rates, tax, bank accounts, users and templates configured in Soluno.
A trial migration your staff can work in, with training on their own data before go-live.
Final migration at month-end, balances matched to PCLaw, and support through your first billing run and first month-end.
We advise firms on PCLaw, Soluno, Leap and Clio without vendor bias, and help you compare them against how your firm actually works.
Legal Technology ConsultingOpening balances for every general ledger account, plus open receivables, payables, work in progress and trust balances, are moved and reconciled. How much detailed transaction history is carried across is agreed during the assessment. The full history always remains available in a read-only copy of PCLaw.
Plan for four to eight weeks from the assessment to go-live, with the cutover itself done over a weekend at a month-end. Larger databases or data that needs repair take longer.
Some, but less than with most alternatives. Soluno's accounting is organised in a way that PCLaw users recognise. We train staff on a copy of your own data before go-live.
Yes. We work with every PCLaw version, including those the vendor no longer supports, and can extract data from databases that will not upgrade cleanly.
We repair it first. Database repair is the core of what we do, and it is done before migration so that the errors do not follow you into Soluno.
